TOM DYER LEADS TEAM ALUMINOS AT THE PROKART CHALLENGE NORTH RACE AT INFINEON RACEWAY KARTING CENTER

Dyer takes S3 victory with Bray and Reasoner accompanying him on all-Aluminos podium

SONOMA, CA (July 11, 2009) – As the year progresses, any driver, mechanic, or team strives to improve reaching a point where all the pieces of the puzzle link together and positive progression is achieved with each continuing race. Motorsports is an amazingly dynamic environment that challenges it’s participants with a multitude of ever changing factors keeping everyone on their toes as they strive for victory or personal bests. It’s these results in the heat of competition that are the key indicators of progress as to how well the hard work and dedication that is being put forth is on the right track or not. For Team Aluminos, as they enter the home stretch of the ProKart North and South regional season, its team performance at the recent ProKart Challenge North race was stepped up as the progression of the year builds toward the championships and eventually the SKUSA SuperNationals.

Saturday July 11, race day at the Jim Russell International Karting Center, Team Aluminos Driver Coach Tom Dyer donned the race helmet and practiced what he preaches to score the S3 triumph, while celebrating a podium sweep with teammates Daniel Bray and Steven Reasoner. To cap off the weekend for Team Aluminos, in S4 Peter Workum finished with his personal best in the North PKC coming home in second place.

Dyer put his Aluminos powered GP Kart on the pole position with a 47.745 lap time around the ‘Sprint’ track course configuration at the Sonoma, California circuit with Kiwi Bray qualifying second completing the all-Aluminos front row. From there, Dyer would dominate the day by leading every lap of racing, while going flag-to-flag in the two heat races and scoring the fast laps of the race and the day. Unchallenged throughout the day and like a machine, Dyer again took control at the start of the feature event after the starting lights went out and led all 20-laps to cruise to the main event victory by over four seconds.

Tom's comment on the weekend outing:

“It’s great to be out racing and competing again. Kart racing is the best way I know how to stay sharp and in driving shape when not behind the wheel of a race car. It’s always fantastic to win and I’m very proud as a driver and coach for the individual and team achievements today.”

The Team Aluminos squad will return back to the ProKart Challenge North program on August 15 for the sixth round of the program at the Jim Russell International Karting Center. Two weeks later the squad will travel to the ProKart Challenge South to decide the championships on August 29 at the CalSpeed Karting facility in Fontana, California for its seventh and final round.
